about me
I live in a south-eastern suburb of Melbourne, Australia, beside Port Phillip Bay.
I have spent many years working in research as a physicist and, unusually, also as a registered psychologist in private practice with particular interests in health, performance (including sport) and rehabilitation.
Recreationally, I was a nationally acredited track and field athletics coach for several years. My own sporting participation has been varied and included periods of skydiving and marathon running.
I enjoy computer programming, conversations, contemporary fiction, poetry, 'art house' movies, theatre, most music (happily including rock, jazz and blues), cooking (food and wine of course) and representing interest groups on local, State and national committees.

where I am
Melbourne with a population of 5 million, is known as ’The Garden City’ and ’The Queen City of the South’. It is the capital city of the State of Victoria.

About 100 years ago, decades after the Victorian goldrush of the 1850s, Melbourne was the largest, wealthiest and fastest growing city in the southern hemisphere. For 27 years it was the inaugural home of Australia’s Federal Parliament. In 1956, Melbourne hosted the Olympic Games when the games were held in the southern hemisphere for the first time.
where you can go from here
I have attached some of the presentations I have made at the Kingston University of the Third Age. It was my local U3A. You will also find a few poems and photos. I plan to change the content from time to time.
